Mt Hood and Trillium Lake Sunrise

When visiting Portland, a must trip is up to the Mt. Hood area, where you can escape into nature in a variety of ways. And a great spot to view and enjoy the mountain is at the waters edge of Trillium Lake, as it provides a beautiful foreground with its picturesque ‘V’ shape tree line and its calm, reflective waters. Just make sure to get there for sunrise before all the activity on the lake starts to take place.
On this morning, there was a haze of smoke in the area from all the summer wild fires that were happening around the state, thus the soft, muted orangish-yellow filled sky and reflection off the lake.
